How can I get a Margate City Public Library Card?
There are a few ways to go about getting a Margate City Public Library card.
You can apply for an Atlantic County Resident Card or a Non-Resident card ($10.00 fee per year).
Please review the Identification required for a Library Card:
- NJ DMV Driver's Licence or a NJ DMV ID Card
- Atlantic County ID Card
- Voter Registration Card
- A one Year Lease or Copy of a Tax Bill
- A computer produced bill from: Atlantic Electric, Comcast, Verizon, or South Jersey Gas
- NJ Casino Control Commission License
The identification must be in your name, be current, and must have the same address that you indicate on your application.
With these rules in mind you can present proof of residence and fill out an application at the circulation desk. It is a quick transaction and you can have your library card in minutes!

Another way to get a Library Card is to DOWNLOAD a printer friendly application form. You can fill it out and present your proof of residence at the circulation desk when you visit the library (You must have Acrobat Reader installed on your computer).
Submit an Online Self-Registration to Pre-Register for A Library Card

Fill out the form and submit. You will be given a temporary barcode (write it down or print it out). The next time you visit the library, bring your temporary barcode to the circulation desk, along with your ID, and we will issue you a Resident or Non-Resident card that has full library privileges.
