How to Get a Library Card
You must provide one of the following with an Atlantic County address for an adult resident card:
- NJ DMV Driver's License or a NJ DMV ID Card
- Atlantic County ID Card
- A one Year Lease or Copy of a Tax Bill with photo ID
- A current bill from a utility company for a local service address with a photo ID
- Other valid NJ State or Federally issued ID with a local address (ie. passport)
Items we do not accept as proof of residence:
- Post office box
- Credit cards, checks, or bank statements
- phone call from a family member
- Correspondence
- Letters from condo associations or contractor receipts
ID presented must be in your name, be current, and must have the same address that you provide on your application.
A One Year Non-Resident card is also available for a cost of $10/year and can be obtained in person at the Circulation Desk with a valid photo ID.
Youth Cards
Cards issued to youth under 18:
Students of Ross or Tighe are issued cards through their schools.
In all other cases, cards may be issued to youth under the age of 18 who are residents so long as they: are at least 5 years old, their parent/guardian has a resident card, and the resident card holder parent/guardian accepts the responsibility for the account.
Youth cards have limitations on borrowing. (Only 10 items can be checked out at a time and no DVDs can be checked out under a youth card.)
